Organic Social Case Study: How a Benefits App Took Facebook Views From 70,900 to 389,600 in Three Months

A benefits and budgeting app for SNAP households grew Facebook organic views from 70,900 to 389,600 and TikTok views from 45,500 to 471,300 between July and September 2026, with engagement rate above target on every channel for three months. The baseline, the content system, the numbers and the one post caveat.

A benefits and budgeting app for people on SNAP brought Quimby Digital in to run organic social across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok from July 2026. By September, Facebook organic views had grown from 70,900 to 389,600 and TikTok views from 45,500 to 471,300. Engagement rate cleared the KPI target on every channel for three months running. The work was swipe through carousels that answer one benefits question each, a weekly rapid response slot for program changes, and the first creator content from real users.

The client is anonymized. It is a consumer fintech app that helps people on SNAP check their balance, plan their month and find benefits they did not know they had. Every number below comes from the monthly reports we delivered to the client, built on Metricool campaign dashboards of hand picked organic posts and GA4. Updated October 2026.

Where did the account start?

With a large following and a hard baseline. The brand had 232,800 followers across three channels by August 2026, in a category where people ask strangers before they ask a company. July was an influencer month: a creator campaign lifted Instagram and TikTok views and left the account with a number to beat once the campaign ended. Facebook organic views stood at 70,900 in July, Instagram at 58,500 and TikTok at 45,500.

The strategy set engagement rate floors of 0.45 percent on Facebook, 0.40 percent on Instagram and 0.30 percent on TikTok, measured as interactions divided by views. Those floors were the KPI. Views growth was the stretch goal.

What did we change?

A weekly slot for the live worry

In August a chip card security carousel reached 28,500 people and drew 42,400 views on Facebook, nine times the page average. Every top five post that month answered a worry people already had: card skimming, a denied application, a missing deposit. So we made it a standing weekly slot. One worry, one plain next step, the swipe as the payoff.

One perk per slide

In September we launched a “what your EBT card unlocks” series: a list of benefits most cardholders do not know they have, one per slide, built to be saved. The first post took 736,900 views across three platforms and 34,600 clicks on Facebook alone. The follow up three weeks later ranked second on Facebook and TikTok, which told us the topic had more than one post in it.

Rapid response for benefit changes

When the cost of living adjustment was announced, a carousel explaining what it meant went out the same week and ranked in the top three on every platform. Benefit news travels when it is explained plainly and verified before it ships.

Real users on camera

September brought the first creator content from people who use the app: a grocery run, a $6 pasta dinner, a week of packed lunches. Each post is logged at 30 days by concept and creator so the creator budget is judged on data, not on one viral clip.

What we stopped doing

App UI and feature explainers. August ran heavy on them and Instagram views fell 49 percent on July. September rebalanced toward people and utility, and the numbers followed.

Source: Quimby Digital monthly organic reports for July, August and September 2026. Views, interactions and engagement rates come from the Metricool campaign dashboard of hand picked organic posts. Followers come from the Metricool account report. Sessions come from GA4. Facebook interactions include clicks, so the Facebook rate is not like for like with Instagram or TikTok.

One post did most of the lifting. The September EBT carousel accounted for about 52,960 of the month’s 58,800 interactions; every other post together matched August. That is the honest read, and it is also the point. Three months of weekly utility posts built the audience that made one of them travel.

Organic social sent 5,246 sessions to the site in September, up 42 percent on August, with Facebook carrying 92 percent of them. The brand held first place in AI assistant answers about its category for a third month at 44 percent share of voice. App installs and account signups from social were not measured in the window.

What would we tell another consumer app brand?

Stop explaining your features. Answer the question your user is already asking someone else, one question per post, and make the swipe the answer. Do it every week, not once, because the follow up post is where you find out whether you have a series or a fluke. One breakout month proves reach. Three months above target proves the system.

This is how our social media management engagements run: a strategy with KPI floors, a monthly report that says what moved and why, and content that answers real questions. For the Reddit side of the same approach, see how five comments a day quadrupled account views in four weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Was the top TikTok post promoted?

No. The native TikTok dashboard shows no promoted post in the 60 days to October 14, 2026. Facebook’s native export shows zero boosted views on every September post. Metricool does not carry an organic or paid split for TikTok, which is why we checked the platform directly.

Why is the Instagram number so much smaller?

Because July was an influencer month and the baseline was inflated. Measured against August, Instagram views more than doubled (29,600 to 66,200) and saves rose more than sevenfold. Measured against July, the gain is 13 percent. We report the harder comparison.

Did the reach redefinitions affect these figures?

No. The window sits after Meta’s reach redefinition on June 15, 2026 and after Instagram’s views redefinition in April 2026, so every figure is on the new basis and the months compare cleanly.

What happens when the next post does not break out?

The floor holds. Excluding the breakout post, September’s interactions matched August, and engagement rate stayed above target on every channel. The system is built to clear the KPI without a breakout. The breakout is what the system earns over time.
